First the whole Kanye/VMA fiasco, abercrombie and fitch which she rebounded from just fine with the announcement of her first fragrance, but now that doesn't seem to be going too smoothly either.
abercrombie and fitch filed a lawsuit in a Columbus, Ohio court yesterday to preempt the songstress from launching a fragrance under the name of her alter ego, "Sasha Fierce," reports WWD.
The complaint says abercrombie and fitch began selling its own scent, "Fierce," in 2002 and had the name trademarked in 2003, according to the source.
Knowles filed a letter-of-intent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in September 2008 for the Sasha Fierce mark in the fragrance category. abercrombie and fitch alleges that it sent a cease-and-desist letter to Knowles after learning of her intent, adds the source.
Coty responded by saying: "We can confirm at this time...that the terms Fierce and Sasha Fierce are not being used as names of a Beyonce fragrance," reports WWD.
